I provide therapy to people in a warm environment with a compassionate voice, helping you feel validated, renewed, and strengthened.
This service aims at alleviating unwanted effects of negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and begins with an assessment to determine your goals, strengths, and barriers. From there, I draw upon a biopsychosocial orientation and evidenced-based models/techniques (CBT, BSFT, MI, and others) - that allows me to tailor a plan specific to your circumstances and desired outcomes.
The process of couples therapy involves an assessment with you as a couple and with each of you separately in order to develop clear and specific treatment goals. The general goal of therapy is to: identify the relational pattern(s) that maintain your stated problem, help you as a couple restructure the maladaptive pattern(s), to create a more viable relationship. This approach is strongly informed by Sue Johnson’s research and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Teletherapy is psychotherapy or counseling provided via audio or video connection through a HIPAA compliant internet platform. Therapy is essentially the same as you would receive in office. As with other services, there are benefits and risks in using this modality.
Since 2001, I have been an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. I offer clinical supervision to help you with fulfilling requirements for state licensure, continuing education or consultation. Supervision is provided in accordance with COAMFTE and CACREP standards and other regulating bodies.
